While many of us have worries of some sort or other in our lives we dont
spend an unnecessarily large amount of time thinking about them. On the other
hand people who constantly worry over anything and everything may be suffering
from GAD otherwise known as generalized anxiety disorder. As with other types of
anxiety disorders generalized anxiety disorder symptoms must be identified
properly by a qualified medical practitioner before you can receive proper treatment.
People who suffers from generalized
anxiety disorder is always in a constant state of tension and worry all the
time, and this may be the case even if there is absolutely no basis to worry
about anything at all. This amplified level of worrying will cause the sufferer
to always expect disaster even though there is a clear absence of impending
danger. The source of the causes for
general anxiety disorder may be hard for
one to identify.
A chronic sufferer of generalized anxiety disorder can worry about not having
a panic attack, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, separation anxiety
and even gaining large amounts of weight. This includes somation disorder where
you have multiple physical complaints, a serious or life threatening illness.Symptoms of general anxiety disorder are basically excessive amounts
of fear and worrying, with the feelings lasting anywhere between days to a few
months at length and the worrying can occur for almost any functions that one is
anticipating or participating in. Controlling these fear and worry is
unfortunately difficult for the sufferer of GAD to control.
In order to fully determine the occurrence of general
anxiety disorder, some of the physical symptoms must also be present within the
six months observation period. Some of the physical signs may be feelings of
agitation, fatigue, a lack of concentration. Mentally we may also feel
lethargic, easily irritated, tensile behaviors, irritated sleeping patters and
at times the mind will be blank.
But in order for one to properly determine the actual occurrence of
general anxiety disorder, the symptoms has to last for at least a few days
within a time frame of 6 months. Upon these observation, only then can one be
sure of actually being suffering from general anxiety disorder and only then
proper medication can be prescribed by the doctor to treat this mental disorder.
Multiple signs exist to tell if one is indeed
suffering from anxiety disorder. Therefore, one should take prudence and notice
for signs that one is indeed suffering from
general anxiety disorder and upon
recognizing this, seek medications immediately so that you can live a more
fulfilling and fruitful life free from anxiety and panic.
