I purchased my two dachshunds three years ago and named them Jack and Jill . My lady is just 13 pounds,my male is 24lbs. . I was very lucky in that I got the doxie dogs only a year apart, unfortunately however the owners of these 2 wonderful dogs expired within a year of each other. I had no intention of breeding these wieners. The amazing thing is I have had 4 litters to date. .I think the pups are the cutest pups Ive ever seen. . I was really pitiful being away when Jill had her 1st litter. . I didn't understand she was so close to having the pups because when I got her she was already pregnant. When I arrived home I found one pup on my lounge. When we got home we discovered more pups behind the toilet and one wasnt breathing at all. I am not sure what happened but when we returned one of the pups was hidden behind the toilet and wasnt breathing

Jill was scared of her little gruesome bundle of dachshund joy aka her dachshund puppies . We lifted the sick puppy up and told Jill to lie down so her baby could try and suckle. After an hour or so she took to the puppy and let it lay next to her, stripped it and let it feed . We thought we only had the two pups after looking around and finding no more.

Three hours further on after such a traumatic day we decided to turn in. Jill and her newborn dachsund passed the night with us in our room so we could make sure everything was alright. . After getting her settled in a box my husband went to shut the light off. . Just as he made his way over to the light he thought he could discover a little noise in the niche .

He slowly glanced behind the door as he didnt want to scare anyone. . What he discovered was another pup lying in the bed with my other dog Jade. She was cleaning it. I left to mention Jade is a 90 pound pit bull so you can imagine my husbands surprised when he saw little and large .

Jade has never had a dachshund before . Strangely however she has coped every time to produce milk when Jill has pups . Jade thinks Jills pups are hers too. Every litter she has had has fed off jade . They regularly lie by her side. Jill is aware only too well that the pups couldnt be watched better by anybody else so herself and Jade have come to an agreement. They sleep in one big pile Skippy,Jill,Jade and the infants. .

The miniature dachshund has a number of sitters. . They regularly leap onto Jade who seems exalted with all the attention she gets. All she does is waggle her tail and puts her hand on them to mess with them . It's funny seeing her jump at them and they leap right back .It constantly surprises me that all of the puppys have never been harmed as the size difference between Jade and them is monumental.
